Summer Alpine Course Information & Sign ups
We have been very lucky to have been given some funding by the MAM, Phil Jardine & Oliver Birkill to run a Alpine Skills Course in the actual Alps this year! It will take place over 3 days with your guide being Andy Teasdale who ran our alpine skills event earlier in the year.
Where is it going to be you ask? We have decided on Arolla through Andy's recommendation, this should reduce the cost as you won't have to buy a ski lift pass! You can expect to stay in some mountain huts and have a thoroughly enjoyable time.
The preliminary dates are the 15th - 17th July however this could be changed slightly later depending on the successful applicants. The cost is expected to be ~£150, however, this is subject to slight change and does not include your flights/accommodation or hut expenses whilst out there. This is still a bargain for everything you are getting!
Right what do we need from you? Please submit a 1 page document containing a short paragraph covering each of the following points: Why you are interested in applying for this course; any experience you already have (Hill walking , Winter walking, Trad climbing etc...); and your aspirations for the course (What you want to get done and get out of it).
No experience is necessary but having previous knowledge of the above mentioned activities will highly increase your chance of a successful application so please make it clear!

Please understand that if you are selected we will need confirmation of your acceptance ASAP and swiftly following the cost, as a deposit to ensure the club is not left at a deficit if you were to drop out. Final choices will be made by Phil Jardine, Oliver Birkill, Jerome & ADL to avoid any conflicting interests.
