Summer Trip! - Cornwall 2019

Whilst the stoats annual summer trip had a damp start (and end), once we arrived in good old Cornwall the weather picked up for most of the week! Most of the weeks climbing was split between the two world renowned crags of Bosigran and Sennen. Many people got to experience the delight of multipitch climbing at Bosigran, with a lucky few getting the chance to try one of the UK’s most popular routes: commando ridge! Sennen on the other hand provided climbers with the chance to push their single-pitch limits. Many club members had a surprise encounter with a seagulls nest halfway up one of the rockfaces, which thankfully didn’t end up causing any surprise whips.

One of the highlights of the trip has to be the ‘80’s themed’ climbing day – it consisted of some beautifully coloured leggings, as well as many pieces of tie-dyed clothing! Rainy day activities included sight-seeing of the lovely coastal towns, drinks and food in a good old spoons, and even an attempted (but thankfully cut-short) swim from one of our more adventurous members.

All in all, the tradition of UBMC’s Cornwall summer trip was successfully upheld, with great climbing and socialising all around!!
